Currently sorting through some A3 giclee prints ready for a mini sale ✨ keep your eyes peeled 👀 and happy new year 😁

A very happy Christmas and New Year to one and all 🤍and thanks for all your support with my design work on this page :-)

2025 you were busy, and challenging in parts. A year that asked a lot of us.

Many weekends apart while my husband cared for his mum in Cornwall, and then saying goodbye to our beloved MIL to cancer in September. Cornwall isn't going to be the same minus her now.

Some highlights. Being swept up in the Woolwich whirlwind showing and selling my artwork there. Reminding me that playful, experimental ideas can continue to grow into finished pieces.

What keeps me clear, and sane always is being outside: dog walks, running 🍂🌱 Add in bikes, horses, garden hangs, lunches with pals and I’m happy.

Looking ahead to 2026 with more confidence and making more time for printing, upsizing my work, and creating a garden art space ✨

Wonderful preview night at my first showing at Woolwich international print fair what an honour to be selected and with such amazing talent and peers I look up to ✨✨✨

sadly had to leave to get my train back just when it was getting rammed.

So inspiring and filled my cup full with art 🖼️ yesterday

👋 thought I would do an intro post. My name is Lea (Lea minus the H which causes a LIFETIME of confusion and that's not even my full name :-D)
I’m a Bristol-based screen printer/artist and by day, I work as a graphic designer. My printing and painting is a creative outlet to step away from computers and reconnect with making and using my hands.

My work is all about colour and shape - I believe colour is linked to emotion, and I want my prints to radiate joy. I’m fascinated by simple shapes and geometry, one shape repeated can produce endless possibilities for patterns and colours.

I lost my Dad in a tragic accident just after graduating in Pattern Design at a pivotal time in my life years ago meaning I have had a very wiggly higgidy (is this a word) route back from dark times to calm content times and creating. Maybe that’s why my work now feels so bursting with colour... it’s a celebration of light, hope, life and colour.

Many of my ideas spring from my walks and runs in the local woods with our cockerpoo.... movement seems to spark creativity and keeps momentum :D so I will keep running ha.

I’m so excited to be showing at the Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair next month. November is already shaping up to be a busy one — a group show coming up, Woolwich Contemporary Print Fair, and new work heading to No. 3 gallery in Clevedon at the end of the month.

✨ I’m beyond delighted that my work has been selected for this year’s Woolwich International Contemporary Print Fair! ✨

Momentum has been key for me this year! I only have a very tiny window each week to physically screen print at the wonderful Spike Print Studio (I work full-time over 4 days as a graphic designer) so I make sure I show up, get prepared, and take small steps — each week building on the last.

Taking note on colour and shape experiments .. do they spark something or not? One experiment leads to the next idea and dead ends leads to other ideas. Artwork is constantly shifting and evolving.

I rarely know exactly where I'm headed — so it's always a magic bonus when the work connects with others too. 💛

Started the day feeling a tad sluggish 🐌 but laced up and headed for an early run to shake things up.

Spike island studios are open this weekend ✨ Come and have a nosey and a browse at the maze of art studios.

Spike print studios are pretty important to me I left London a sorry state over 20 years ago, uncreative, a couple of years fresh out of uni, still grieving and spike print was like a hinge opening to my new fresh start in Bristol and creative life ✨

I had a family in the middle, have tried other studios over the years but joined again as a member again and loving it 🙌🏻

Come and see the mini print show and there will be live demos and workshops over the weekend 😁✨🥰

50! Im ready for you ✨

49 is over and it’s been a little pressing at times…. Being the age your Dad suddenly died as a now adult and parent brings a whole new perspective to things.

Im the happiest, healthiest, fittest most creative and authentic version of me right now 🫶🏻

A few years have culminated to where I am now ✨ post pandemic working from home (no more background noise, chatters) just my thoughts, more quietness, daily walks, running, kids being older….no more numbing out, blocking, avoiding, partying hard, dismissing so I’ve let past wounds bubble on up and be digested at this later stage - with stillness has comes clarity 😊 I can see the twists turns and wrong way, hurdles and trauma I have had to overcome but how I am full circle back to where I should be ❤️ and through no trying am oddly living a parallel life to my dad at the same age (work at the dining room table, drive a silver fast car, daily dog walks, daily lunch run or bike ride)

I have spent the most glorious weekend with family, friends old and new who are all very dear to me laughing, dancing, living and I feel very very lucky and loved ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ life is short go grab it my loves ✨

And Reels how the heck do I change the music didn’t want this track 😆

49 is over and it’s been a little pressing at times…. Being the age your Dad suddenly died as a now adult and parent brings a whole new perspective to things.

Im the happiest, healthiest, fittest most creative and authentic version of me right now 🫶🏻

A few years have culminated to where I am now ✨ post pandemic working from home (no more background noise, chatters) just my thoughts, more quietness, daily walks, running, kids being older….no more numbing out, blocking, avoiding, partying hard, dismissing so I’ve let past wounds bubble on up and be digested at this later stage - with stillness has comes clarity 😊 I can see the twists turns and wrong way, hurdles and trauma I have had to overcome but how I am full circle back to where I should be ❤️ and through no trying am oddly living a parallel life to my dad at the same age (work at the dining room table, drive a silver fast car, daily dog walks, daily lunch run or bike ride)

I have spent the most glorious weekend with family, friends old and new who are all very dear to me laughing, dancing, living and I feel very very lucky and loved ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ life is short go grab it my loves ✨

Short and sweet as always last night at the studio.

I kept having to blowdry my hands each now and then 🥶to warm up (btw a hairdryer is essential printing kit if short on time none of this leaving things to dry naturally!!)

Colour thought for today….

Had this one photographed by the lovely @johounsomephotography as neon is hard to photograph.

This made me ponder on how we all perceive colours slightly differently….add on to this how phone photos and the images on my computer screen are different again and don’t pick up the true colours 😆

I see why Pantones were invented !
